Sound good?

Looking for a digital marketing job in Scotland but don’t know where to start?

We’ve devised the perfect how-to guide about bagging a job in digital marketing in Scotland.

Learn From People In Digital Marketing

Watch some videos, listen to podcasts and take part in webinars. Get some good, solid knowledge of digital marketing so you know what you’re talking about at an interview.

Take a look at different courses to learn about digital marketing basics, current trends and any other useful information. A lot of courses are free and can help give you a boost when applying for jobs.

Network With Digital Marketers In Scotland

Sites like LinkedIn are a great way to connect with people in the industry you’re interested in. You can interact with their posts and even get in touch.

A lot of agencies also used LinkedIn to post ads for new vacancies, so it’ll make it extra easy for you to apply.

Update Your CV & Cover Letter

Communicate your qualifications and relevant experience through your CV. Your CV acts as your own personal ad, showcasing your abilities, skills and personality.

We found some useful CV tips on Indeed :

  • Start with a header and contact information. This way, employers can quickly get in touch with you.
  • Write a professional summary with a short bio. Describe your ideal career path in this section.
  • List your education, including the qualifications you’ve earned and the ones you’re pursuing.
  • Provide your work experience.
  • List skills relevant to the job.
  • Add additional sections to list your accomplishments.

Be Yourself

Yes, we’ve all heard this cheesy line before but it’s true.

Businesses want to work with people who are genuine. They see candidates with relevant experience and great CVs all the time, but in the end, they’ll choose people who they actually like and who they think will be a good asset to their team.

Don’t get too hung up on the technicalities, be enthusiastic and let your personality shine.

Apply!

That’s right, just go and apply!
Do some research into the agency/ business to make sure they’re the right fit for you, then take the jump and apply.

Yatter Ltd is an award-winning PPC agency based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

We’re on a mission to give the marketing industry a good ol’ shake. Too many of the clients we speak to have been burned by agencies in the past. Poor results, poor communication, being left out of the process… the list goes on.

We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic, detail-obsessed and switched-on people to join our team . If you apply for an account manager position, you will be the main contact for clients and need to be able to efficiently handle several client projects at once. We report back to clients on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis and you will be responsible for planning and hosting these catch-ups through email, video and video calls.

Our client communication is key to us, so we want someone confident in setting and managing client expectations and who is proactive in client relationships, bringing new ideas to the table and not just answering their questions and requests when asked. We want someone with a passion for helping clients get results – we are not just a “set up and ignore” agency.

The Role

It will be your responsibility to carry out reactive and proactive account optimisations to ensure that client results achieve prescribed business goals. You will play a critical role in the retention and development of our existing clients, whilst supporting with new business pitches and onboarding.

We ask that you have experience setting up and managing PPC campaigns (the more channels the better!) and have a well-rounded knowledge of digital marketing including conversion rate optimisation, CRM systems, and landing page builders.

The roles are best suited to a people-person who is both analytical and creatively minded, so if that sounds like you, get in touch! This is a very exciting opportunity to work with a new growing brand with huge plans.

Most importantly, we want you to have enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Digital marketing changes daily and you need to be passionate about staying ahead of the curve. We want you to work using your own initiative, taking ownership of situations.

Our work is predominantly remote based, but you must be within travel distance to Dunfermline, UK for monthly meetings.
