So, you’re thinking of working with Yatter.
Fantastic!
We know you’ll have questions buzzing around your brain and we’re glad you do.
It’s super important to ask questions and get clear answers when linking up with a PPC (Pay-per-click) agency.
And no question is silly – trust me, we’ve had a few teetering on the line.
We’ve created a list of the most popular questions we are asked so you can have it at your fingertips.
What happens when I sign up? What do I get when I sign up?
Invoice
As soon as you agree to work with Yatter, the finance team will send you your first invoice to kick things off. We don’t charge set-up fees, so your initial payment will cover all setup and your first month of management. Your advertising spend goes directly to the platform. There are no hidden fees with us, you simply pay a set fee each month.
Onboarding
Once we receive the payment, we’ll send you an onboarding form. This will walk you through everything we need to get started, such as
- Access to your assets (Pages, ad accounts, CRMs, websites etc.)
- Questions regarding your perfect customer
- An understanding of your business & numbers
- Access to your customer lists (for custom audiences) & creatives
The form takes roughly 45 minutes to complete and can be done at different times so you can start it and go back to it at a later time. It saves you a lot of time as there is no constant back and forth when exchanging information- we have access to everything and don’t have to chase you up later.
Once you’ve completed your onboarding form, you will be introduced to your account manager via email. We will run through your onboarding form to ensure we have everything we need to arrange an initial strategy meeting.
Initial Strategy Call
We like to have your initial strategy call within the first 3 days of your onboarding being completed. This is a chance for you to meet your account manager and have them run through your onboarding form and ask any questions they may have.
On this call, we link to focus on your goals, expectations and requirements. It’s important that we’re all on the same page.
This call is a fact-finding exercise and a great way to meet your amazing account manager
We want to have full clarity so your account manager will often ask you to repeat questions you’ve answered during the onboarding.
Discovery Process
Straight after the strategy call, your account manager will begin the discovery process.
They will take all of the information they have about your business (from the onboarding and initial strategy call) and will perform a comprehensive audit on your marketing, competitors and the market.
This provides a huge amount of context on things like your marketing strategy, what offers your competitors have, who’s advertising in your space and what’s working in the industry as a whole.
By diving deep into all of the above, we’re able to see what our best approach will be. From there, we will put together a game plan ready to present to you.
Game plan presentation & copy approval
The game plan is a personalised strategy document we put together and present to you where we share all the findings from the discovery phase and outline the strategy we feel is best suited to help you achieve your goals.
On the call, we’ll run through:
- What your competitors are doing and what we can learn from them
- Quick wins we’ve found for you (business & marketing wins)
- The strategy we’ll use to get quick and sustainable results
After the game plan call, we get straight to work on drafting up your advertising copy (the text bit of your ads).
Our expert copywriters typically write between 3-5 initial pieces of copy for you to approve. The copy drafts are sent to you on a Google Doc so you have the chance to leave any thoughts and comments.
Foundations process
Once the game plan has been approved, we immediately get to work on your campaigns, starting the foundations process. This is where the team get to work on getting all the “plumbing” in place. This includes things like the Facebook Pixel, Google tracking codes or Linkedin’s Insight Tag.
I won’t bore you with everything we do on each platform, but on Facebook for example:
On Facebook, this means:
- Verify Domain & connect to the Facebook page (using connected assets)
- Add Facebook pixel code to funnel & website using Conversion API
- Check the pixel is working properly across the website and funnel pages
- Ensure advanced matching is turned on (view all options and turn all on)
- Ensure first-party cookies are turned on
- Set up the Aggregated Event Measurements, maximising the number of events
- Create conversion tracking inside the Facebook Events Manager
- Ensure the client funnel is hooked up to their CRM/Email-marketing software
- Set up custom metrics tracking in FB Ads Manager (everyone with access to the account to do this)
Every business has different set-up needs, but in short, we make sure all your tracking is set up and working effectively. That way you know where every penny is being spent and what it’s generating.
If you already have tracking set up, we will still take time to ensure everything is set up properly. This often includes having to liaise with your web developer or tech team.
Campaign build & go live!
Once the foundations are in place and everything has been tested, we begin building the campaign based on the game plan strategy.
By this point, everything has already been planned and approved, so the build itself is relatively quick to get live. We will typically build at least three types of campaigns:
- Trust building – driving ads to your content to build your audience (building your retargeting audience)
- Prospecting – driving ads to people who don’t know who you are yet
- Retargeting – driving ads to people who have engaged with your business previously (watched videos, purchased something, on your mailing list etc.)
Every client and situation is different.
Your account manager will have presented the personalised strategy for your business during the game plan.
Once the campaigns are ready to go, we’ll record a quick loom video to walk you through everything. That’s your chance to ask any final questions and provide any thoughts.
After final approval, we’ll go live!
Initial results
Once the ads have been published, they’ll go through an approval process. This typically takes a couple of hours but can take up to 24 hours in some cases.
Once the ads are actually live, we “look, but don’t touch” for the first couple of days (budget dependent). This may sound counterintuitive, but it is important to give the platform time to learn and optimise.
Once your campaigns are live, we ask clients not to touch campaigns in general, leaving all management to us. If a client makes a chance without letting us know, it can interrupt performance and reporting.
After a couple of days, we’ll update you on how things are going and what we’re going to do as a result. If you’d like to learn more about what happens once a campaign goes live (and what your job is!) click here to check out our blog on that.
We’ve done this for years and have hundreds of clients all over the world- we know what works!
To summarise, you get everything you need for success!
What guarantees do I have that this will work? What results should I expect once we go live?
We get asked the question, “what results will I get?” a lot. That’s why we created a video about it.
And the answer… it all depends!
There are no 100% guarantees when it comes to running ads. No advertiser knows exactly what’s going to happen to a campaign when it goes live but from our experience and expert knowledge, we can hypothesise using existing data.
If an agency tells you you are 100% guaranteed results, they’re making it up.
There are countless factors that determine how much you’re gonna spend on ads or what your results are gonna be; market rates, conversion rates CPM rates, competition and even holidays.
Let’s say you’ve never run ads before, you’re starting from scratch and have no data. We can’t tell you what’s definitely going to happen because there are so many factors that will determine the cost. However, we can do research into competitors, your industry etc and if we’ve worked with a company like yours before, we can compare it with our other clients to give you a rough estimate of what it might cost you per lead or per sale.
If you already have run ads, brilliant! We can perform an audit for you where we analyse your data to see how you’ve performed, identify what might have gone wrong and give you an estimate.
No one can promise you results, but in our experience of working with hundreds of businesses around the world, we are almost certain it will work. At Yatter we never work with a client we don’t think will work. We have plenty of happy clients and fantastic results to match.
How much will it cost? Who pays the advertising spend? Do you pay and bill us, or do we pay directly to the channel?
Let’s start with how much it costs. It depends! Take a drink every time you read “it depends”.
Every client has different needs and goals, so we base our fees on each individual situation. It all depends on what you need!
We set a short contract of 3 months minimum then it’s a monthly rolling fee. You’ll never have any hidden fees, just one set fee.
Sometimes, a percentage of ad spend makes the most sense. Other times, a flat fee works better.
Most importantly, there won’t be any nasty surprises.
As for the advertising spend, we only take a management fee. Your payments for ads will be billed directly to Facebook or Google.
Other agencies may play around with your money, but by taking our separate fee and having the advertising fee go straight to the channel, it makes life a whole lot easier and better for you.
What budget do I need to start with Facebook/Google Ads?
The short answer, it all depends. How many times have we said this already?
You can start advertising on Facebook at £1 a day, which is the very bare minimum but we don’t really recommend it. If we think about it this way, someone who is spending £10 a day is learning, and gathering data 10 times faster than someone spending £1 a day.
Clients usually start anywhere between £50 a day up to £10,000 a day. We generally recommend you start at a smaller price, subjective to your business and what you’re looking for.
Our goal is to get you to a point where your campaigns are working, then we want them to scale as quickly as possible.
We will do our research into your business, competition etc and come up with a budget we think you need, starting at the lower end to lower the risk.
We can use the budget to learn, find what works and then scale it. We’re not taking any more money from you. What you spend, you make back.
Who will I be working with day-to-day? Who will be my account manager?
After the onboarding process, you will be introduced to your account manager via email.
We’ll assign your account manager based on who has the most experience on your particular account- what channel you want to use, your industry, and your level of spend.
We have a team of amazing account managers with a huge amount of experience in all channels and platforms.
We will then arrange an initial strategy call. This is a chance for you to meet your account manager, have them run through your onboarding form and ask any questions they may have. We don’t dive deep into strategy on this call, this call is a fact-finding exercise and a great way to meet your amazing account manager!
We also have a fantastic creative team with video editors, graphic designers and copywriters, and we have the ability to create user-generated content. Your account manager will sort all this out for you.
You’re in safe hands!
Can I call someone if I have questions? How often do I get reports?
Client experience and communication are the pillars of Yatter!
We put a huge amount of effort into communicating with our clients and ensuring they’re happy and in the know. Our aim is to be as proactive as possible and be an extension of your team!
We have a structured communication cadence. Once your campaigns go live, you’ll get access to a live reporting dashboard, which you can access at any time. Every client gets a weekly email to go over what’s happening, what’s working, what’s next etc. Then, we do a more formal, in-depth monthly report call to share results and discuss the next steps. Finally, each quarter we meet internally to discuss your campaigns before presenting our findings to you.
We can arrange a call at a time that suits but we aim to be as proactive as possible that we’ve already communicated to you before you have a problem or question. We want you to feel in the know at all times.
How do you help with videos and photos? Do you send someone out to our business to take pictures and videos?
All our packages come with graphic design and video editing support to help take the creative load off your shoulders. If you have an in-house creative team, your account manager will lead them on what to create.
As for coming out to your business, we don’t include this as part of our package but we can offer services.
We can create user-generated content, for example, if you send out your product to us, we can then make some videos or take some photographs to create content for you.
If you need professional photography we have partners and we’re always happy to help you.
Much like our creative support, you’ll also get access to our expert copywriters, who will write ads that are guaranteed to convert. We’ve written thousands of ads over the years, so we know what works
What happens if you don’t deliver results in the first 3 months? What percentage of your clients stay with you past 3 months and for how long?
To be completely transparent, we’ve never had a client who didn’t get results.
We only take on clients we are confident will work!
We don’t want to tie you into a long-term contract- that ain’t cool. You’ll start off with an initial 3-month agreement before moving to a rolling monthly basis. We have this period of time to get you to a profitable stage- success usually happens more in weeks rather than months.
The average client stays with us for over a year. We’re proud to say that when a client decided to leave us it’s on amicable terms. This is usually because the client’s priorities have changed or they’ve hired someone internally.
Clients generally don’t leave us. As I said, we know what we’re doing!
What do you need from me?
We basically just need access!
This includes:
- Access to assets, so that’s your ad accounts and pages.
- Access to your website, so we can install tracking.
- Access to your funnel builder if you’re using one.
- Access to your CRM or email system to set up any integrations.
- Access to Google analytics and Google tag manager .
- Access to email Databases of previous customers and email lists.
All of this is covered in the onboarding process! Absolutely everything you need to provide us is on that onboarding form and has instructions on how to give us access to these things
You will have access to a client Google folder for you and us to upload your access and creatives. We encourage our clients to create content and we can coach you on the best way to do it. Our team can help you out by creating user-generated content.
How quickly can we get started?
It all starts from pressing this little link here.
