5 Reasons You Should Be Using Facebook Advertising

Reasons to use Facebook Ads

Facebook advertising provides you with one of your biggest business opportunities. According to emarketer, 96% of marketers claim Facebook offers the best return on investment. When you compare Facebook ads to traditional advertising like TV, Radio or Newspaper, it doesn’t take long to see why it’s so powerful…

The ability to target specific messages to specific people (and track it all) is something you don’t get anywhere else. In this article I’m going to discuss the top 5 reasons you should start using Facebook advertising for your business now.

1. Your potential customers are there

I’ve heard many business owners claim their customers aren’t on Facebook.

That’s nonsense. They are.

Over 2 billion people actively use Facebook every month. That’s insane!

That’s not the only thing, it’s still growing. Facebook’s user base continues to grow.

I’d be very surprised if you couldn’t find a percentage of your target audience in the 2 billion people on Facebook. Now, you might argue they’re not on Facebook to buy, but that’s where clever advertising comes into play.

2. They are cheap

Facebook ads, when set-up and run properly can be one of the cheapest ways to send targeted traffic (people) to your website.

You can spend as little as £1 per day on Facebook (In the US, it’s even cheaper at $1 per day). Even with a small budget like this, you’re still able to reach thousands of people that meet your targeted criteria.

With one client we were able to send people to their landing page at only 10p per click. Over 1,400 people hit that page in the first 7 days, with 50% converting into email sign ups. That’s 700 new leads for next to nothing!

You’d be lucky to get anywhere near that price with any other sort of advertising.

3. The specific targeting capabilities

The reason Facebook advertising is so popular and successful is because of the ability to laser target potential customers. You’re able to target people on:

  • Interests
  • Location
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Relationship status
  • Education
  • Work
  • Interests
  • Behaviours

The list goes on. You can also create ads to target people who have visited your website.

And then you have Lookalike audiences. This is where you take one of your custom audiences (like a list of previous customers) and ask Facebook to find more people like them. A really powerful way to find new customers!

4. Tracking capabilities

Unlike most forms of advertising, you are able to track everything. From the number of people who viewed your advert, all the way through to the number of people that saw your ad, clicked on it and then purchased your product. When you advertise on TV, for example, it’s very hard to track what’s going on.

You’re provided with a range of analytics such as:

  • Reach
  • Number of clicks
  • Cost per click
  • Cost per conversion

And the list goes on.

Most tracking on Facebook is made possible with the Facebook Pixel.

5. Get edge over competition

Facebook and social media advertising, in general, is still a fairly new concept to many business owners. Most business owners are still stuck in their ways of advertising using traditional media such as radio, TV or newspaper.

Don’t get me wrong, every form of advertising and marketing has it’s place, but there’s no doubt Facebook is one of the best. If not the best.

Businesses that decide to give Facebook ads a go will most certainly gain an advantage over their competition, because the chances are, their competition don’t even know what it is.

Those are my 5 main reasons on why businesses should start to incorporate Facebook advertising into their marketing spend. As mentioned, you’re able to track everything that’s going on and you can ensure that your message is being delivered to the perfect customer at the perfect time.

Facebook advertising can be a very quick way to lose a lot of money if you’re not sure what you’re doing. That’s why it’s vital to speak to a specialist or learn how to run ads yourself.
